Medifast 5 & 1 Diet Weight Loss Program

So I need to loose a few pounds it seems. We had a biggest loser contest at work and I did OK, but I felt like I should have done better. If I dropped a good 20 pounds that would be perfect.
So where to start? There’s a million diets out there, and I’ve tried most of them. Atkins to South Beach, nothing really sticks. Except the extra weight that is. Ah yes, and good ol exercise, let’s not forget that. I get my fair amount, but it’s hard to make time for anything extra. What I need is something that’s easy and filling at the same time. I did a little research and came up with the Medifast 5 & 1 program.
It’s like some of these other programs like Weight Watchers or Zone or whatever, except it’s cheaper and the food in it is much better tasting. Medifast is a portion-controlled, nutritionally balanced, low fat and clinically proven program that helps people lose weight faster and more effectively than traditional diet plans. Medifast Meals come in individual packets that you mix with water, microwave, and/or refrigerate. Medifast is available in a wide variety of foods and flavors including shakes, puddings, soups/stew, chili, oatmeal, bars, and hot beverages.
Basically you eat 5 of their meals and one normal meal each day. The balance pf protein and carbs in their meals puts your body in a fat burning state that enables you to loose 2 – 5 pounds per week. Chemistry in action it seems.
So how’s it going? Pretty good actually. I’ve lost 6 pounds in the last two weeks. On top of that, my food expenses are actually down. I tend to snack throughout the day anyway and the meals are cheaper then the vending machine. The only issue I’ve had is some slight irregularity which I think is normal with any change in diet.
